Ships that have been requisitioned as auxiliaries

During its history, at various times, the Admiralty has hired or requisitioned additional ships to augment the services provided by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary service. These have been for both short and not so short periods – this was particularly so in times of conflict.

The full details of some of these vessels are hard to come by and as and when further details are found they will be published in this section on their ships ‘cards’.
