Slops Chest

We have found the ideal place to go if you want top quality embroidery at a very reasonable price.  The business is run and owned by Brian Bilverstone, an ex Royal Navy Communicator and is based in Dagenham in Essex.

Brian is a sole trader and prides himself on producing top quality embroidered products to your design, and has produced some stunning logos for many companies, organisations and individuals.  ABS does a lot of work for serving Forces, Sea Cadet Units and veterans and whilst with most companies you have to pay for set-up, and order a minimum number of garments, this is not the case with ABS.

Brian produced the Polo Shirts for the RFA Historical Society, which is much admired by all who see them, modelled below by one of your editors; we couldn’t afford a page 3 model so you will have to make do with me.

ABS also embroiders ships crests onto a range of garments, most of the official designs are held by Brian, though if you have a good clear unofficial crest and can take a photograph straight on the subject, not at an angle and without flash in natural light (this will distort the image that will be embroidered), then e mail it to Brian and he will advise you as to its suitability.

This company also produces the silhouette baseball type cap, again Brian has a number of silhouettes of RFA ships, and can produce a stunning cap with the silhouette, name of the ship with pennant number and years you served if desired, in a standard format, which is ideal to commemorate a deployment on a particular ship, or as a present for an old sailor. Don’t forget though, they are silhouettes, not detailed pictures.

Remember ABS will produce one offs for individuals as well as production runs for ships on deployment, so either have a good look at the web page or e- mail or 'phone Brian and discuss your needs with him, most of the garments on the web page include embroidery and it is fantastic value.

Please note IT IS NOT POSSIBLE to provide ships badges on the caps.
