Background Data:  One of a group of nine coasters which were not normally classed as RFA’s although some, on making deep sea passages, had a proportion of RFA Officers among their complement. They are included here as the ancestors of the more modern ammunition ships

3 March 1903 completed

14 March 1903 handed over to the Admiralty at Sheerness

23 June 1921 Captain C F Harrison  appointed as Master

23 October 1929 Captain C R Flaherty  appointed as Master

31 March 1937 Captain R J Ward  appointed as Master

16 June 1941 Captain W G Lupton  appointed as Master

16 February 1942 sailed Methil in Convoy EN 47/2 along with RFA EAGLESDALE

19 February 1942 arrived Oban

18 April 1942 sailed Lyness and joined convoy WN271 to Methil arriving on the next day 

23 February 1943 sailed Lyness and joined convoy WN397 to Methil arriving the next day. RFA Empire Salvage was in the same convoy

21 December 1943 Captain J K Pearce  appointed as Master

February 1947 purchased by Cia Dabiabe de Navegacao SA, Panama having been renamed Parita

1947 sold to Katerina Cia de Vapores SA and registered in Panama having been renamed Katerina

1952 sold to Sevket Manioglu and registered at Istanbul, Turkey having been renamed ORTAKOY

1956 sold to Ismail Kaplama and remained registered at Istanbul, Turkey with the same name

1957 renamed I.KAPLAMA same owner and same registry

1959 Re-engined with 1 x 6 cyl 350 x 384 mm diesel engine by Schwermasch. Karl Liebknecht, Magdeburg. 480 bhp

1962 sold to Halil ve Mehmet Uzuner and registered at Istanbul, Turkey having been renamed ORTAKOY (again)

1965 sold to Celal Uzuner and remained registered at Istanbul, Turkey with the  name SARIKAYA

1980 sold to Orhan Sadikoglu ve Ortaklari and remained registered at Istanbul, Turkey with the  same name

1985 sold to Celal Uzuner ve Ortaklari Hizir Reis Tankeri Isletmesi and remained registered at Istanbul, Turkey with the  same name

August 1997 deleted from the Istanbul, Turkey register
